Hey, I’m Isabel!

I remember when I was having the hardest time designing the brand for my own website, which is ironic as a trained and experienced designer and art director with 10 years of experience working with some of the biggest brand names in the US! 

During that time, I thought why was it so hard for me to sit down and create an exciting personal brand? Shouldn’t this come easily to me, I literally have a double Bachelor’s degree in Design and Digital Media?!

I wished I was able to accurately translate my multi-faceted personality and extensive creative experience, and infuse that visually into my brand in a way that felt so good and exciting to me. I wanted powerful branding to lead employers and dream collaborators to feel compelled to reach out to ME. No calls needed (what a dream!) because they instantly could feel my expertise and energy from my branding. 

But I was overwhelmed with comparison and self-doubt. I was so close to my own work. I felt there were so many steps involved. I was constantly battling resistance and procrastination in getting my website published. I would look up so many free YouTube tutorials and examples on Pinterest or behance, but after several hours of consuming, my brand development was moving at a glacial pace.

I spent 10 years designing for high profile businesses, brands like Google & Target, organizations like CAIR, LEAD Filipino, and University of California Davis, and changemakers like Stephen Curry and Michelle Obama. It wasn’t until I stepped out as an entrepreneur that I integrated my wellness practices to develop an effortless and pleasurable branding process that I used in my own business! 

Before I begin any designing, I connect to my intentions, future visions, and the energy I want to embody. My spiritual practices have become the foundation of my creative process —- integrating meditation, visualization and oracle cards to garner intuitive direction to capture the essence of my business in all of my designs. 

I use a unique mood board creation process to not just hone in on my brand ideas but also call in the future opportunities and achievements through this brand. 

Then I step away to integrate and let my subconscious work. This is the liminal magical space where my brain effortlessly synthesizes my research and intentions, and quickly provides abundant visions or ideas to move forward. Rest is integral to my process for sustainability and increased innovative thinking.

As I treat my creative process as a creative ritual, the actual design process becomes so easy and playful! And it takes the results to new levels of creativity and impact.

Now as a Creative Wellness Guide and Soulful Brand Designer, I’ve had the honor of supporting creatives with their big visions while honoring their wellbeing. 

Within just a year of starting my business and launching my original branding on my website and social media, it has led to effortlessly attracting opportunities for growth like:

Getting to this point was a journey, where I continue to integrate my past eras into my work today. In the past couple years, I was part of a mass lay-off at my last 9-5 job, underwent an ovarian cyst surgery, and grieved two family members. With these challenges, I embraced my emotions, allowing them to move through me. I established my support systems to connect with in times of need and developed a newfound conviction in my creative expertise. I also brought a sense of play into my life, and deepened my spiritual and wellness practices.

As a result of a strong brand presence for my own business, I’ve been able to travel more within one year than I’ve ever done during my whole 9-5 career, visiting friends across the nation, going on an international life-changing retreat in Costa Rica for BIPOC women and femmes, and spending a whole month in my ancestral country in the Philippines.
